Russian Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuichenko said that activities directed against traditional spiritual and moral values should be considered political and be the basis for inclusion in the register of foreign agents. He also added that foreign agents can be completely deprived of the right to earn money in Russia.
“He should acquire this status, among other things, if his activities are directed against our spiritual and moral values, because this, excuse me, is already an element of state policy,” said Mr. Chuichenko during the discussion “Besogon and the Law” at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (quote from TASS).
Konstantin Chuichenko recalled that earlier foreign agents were banned from receiving state funding. “Today, we have deprived foreign agents of state funding, and why not deprive them of all funding and the opportunity to earn money?” – he said.
Earlier, the State Duma proposed banning property support for foreign agents and introducing punishment for those who help them circumvent the bans. For foreign agents, it was also proposed to set an income tax of 5%.
