Five marine divisions and one brigade will be formed as part of the Russian fleet, this will happen in the medium term. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov.

The admiral confirmed the plans of the Ministry of Defense to strengthen marine units. Today the Navy has five brigades and one regiment. The Black Sea, Baltic and Northern fleets each have one brigade, the Pacific – two. A separate regiment has been formed as part of the Caspian Flotilla. All brigades will be reorganized into divisions, the regiment will be deployed into a brigade.

In order to increase the combat capabilities of the Marine Corps as a separate branch of the Navy, in the medium term it is planned to reorganize the existing five Marine Corps brigades in the fleets into Marine Divisions, and the Marine Corps Regiment of the Caspian Flotilla into a brigade

– Evmenov said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

To be specific, the Northern Fleet has the 61st Marine Brigade, the Black Sea Fleet has the 810th Brigade, the Pacific Fleet has the 155th and 40th Brigades, and the Baltic Fleet has the 336th Brigade. The 177th Marine Regiment belongs to the Caspian Flotilla.

The Marines are taking an active part in the special operation and have already covered themselves with glory in battle. The Marine Corps motto: “Where we are, there is victory,” is confirmed daily by the actions of the soldiers.
