The Russian news agency TASS reported, quoting one of the leaders of the Chechen Ahmed Brigades, a group of special forces, withdrawing today, Sunday, from the Russian Rostov region, after being sent to the region to resist the fighters of the Russian special military group, Wagner.

The commander said the Ahmed Brigades would return to where they were fighting in the past.

Members of the Wagner forces also withdrew from the Lipetsk region in southern Russia, according to local authorities announced Sunday, the day after the agreement that ended the armed rebellion of this group against the Russian military leadership.

And local authorities reported that “the Wagner units that deployed on Saturday in the Lipetsk region have now left.”

Today, Wagner forces also withdrew from the Voronezh region, in southern Russia, where the governor of the region announced that members of the Wagner Group were completing their withdrawal from it following an agreement that ended the armed rebellion.

Governor Alexander Gusev said, “The movement of Wagner units in the Voronezh region is in the process of being completed … the matter is taking place naturally and without incident,” noting that the restrictions imposed on Saturday on movement will be lifted as soon as the situation is “finally resolved.”

Earlier today, Sunday, the fighters of the Wagner Group left the city of Rostov, southwestern Russia, according to the regional governor, Sunday, after they had taken control of the headquarters of the Russian army with their commander, Yevgeny Prigozhin, on Saturday.

Vasily Golubev said via Telegram that “the convoy of the Wagner group left Rostov and headed towards its camps,” without giving further details.

The Kremlin had confirmed that the head of the Russian private military Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, would move to Belarus under an agreement brokered by its president Alexander Lukashenko to end the armed rebellion that Prigozhin led against the Russian military leadership.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Lukashenko had offered to broker a deal, with the approval of Russian President Vladimir Putin, because he had known Prigozhin for nearly 20 years.

Peskov added that the criminal case against Prigozhin for armed rebellion would be dropped and that the Wagner fighters who participated in his “march for justice” would not be subjected to any action in appreciation of their services to Russia in the past.
