Timofey is the only Russian on the hijacked ship
Tyumen sailor Timofey Kolchanov was captured by the Iranian military. He worked on the container ship Aries, which, along with its crew, was captured by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy. Of the 25 crew members, Timofey is the only Russian. A journalist from the 72.RU editorial office contacted the sailor’s wife, she said that she knew about the condition of her husband and other crew members.

That is, they are not touched, and they continue to ensure the operation of the vessel and are waiting for these very negotiations, apparently with the owner of the vessel and this party, which is in Iran.

In an attempt to find her husband, the woman contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There they informed her that they had sent inquiries to Iran and promised to keep her informed of the situation.
“I wrote this application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, and, of course, they called me back right away.” It was a consulate from Tehran, I think. They keep in touch with me there, but they said that everything that is needed in such cases, so to speak, is not the first thing for them. So they made all the requests, wrote them and will, of course, keep you informed. He (representative of the diplomatic mission. – Note edit.) in touch with me,” shares the sailor’s wife.
Timofey can be called a real “sea wolf”
According to the woman, Timofey has been traveling on international flights for more than 15 years; before that, he worked in other directions and such situations did not arise. Maria believes that the seizure is connected with the aggravation of the Arab-Israeli conflict – the ship belongs to Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer.
– Yes, there were other directions, but in this direction in general, as it turned out, now. There were no incidents specifically regarding the ship, because the owner of the ship is an Israeli billionaire,” says Maria.
Timofey Kolchanov is 38 years old, he was born and raised in Primorye. The man graduated from the Naval Academy in Vladivostok and has been working as a sailor for about 15 years. Recently he has been holding the position of second mechanic. About 12 years ago, Timofey met Maria, and soon the young people got married and moved to Tyumen, where their daughter was born.
The container ship Aries was captured the day before, April 13, in the Strait of Hormuz. The ship is owned by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime company. The ship was sailing from the UAE under the Portuguese flag. A video filmed by crew members later emerged. The footage shows people being lowered from the helicopter onto the deck on cables. As it became known later, it was the Iranian military. Jerusalem said it was a “piracy operation of a criminal regime.”
