A video was released showing Russian soldiers entering a bar in occupied territory, threatening and assaulting civilians.
According to foreign media such as the Daily Mail on the 27th (local time), the incident occurred in a bar in Chornomosk, a coastal town in the northwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula, on the 23rd. CCTV footage of the incident was uploaded and spread on social media such as Telegram, and the girlfriend of one of the assaulted men made it public, saying, “This should never happen again.”
Looking at this, while the balcony of the bar is crowded with people, a group of people holding rifles suddenly approaches and shoots into the air. Some people, startled by the sound, screamed and fell to the ground with their heads down in fear. Then, men in plain clothes who appeared with the group attacked and mercilessly assaulted the people who were lying face down. These plainclothes men were Russian soldiers belonging to the 81st Volunteer Brigade, established last year and stationed in the Crimea. They had previously celebrated their country’s national holiday, ‘Defender of the Fatherland Day’, and then headed to a bar. After getting into an argument with civilians, they became dissatisfied and called in their armed colleagues. At the time, the soldiers were said to have been harassing the women in the bar, and did so when the women’s male companions stopped them.
As a result, one man suffered a broken bone. The woman who released the video also posted a photo of two bleeding men and said, “They made my boyfriend sit on a chair and beat him brutally with a club.” “Please spread the video around and get the word out,” she continued, “so that something like this doesn’t happen again to the people you love tomorrow.”
