Bachmut hardly exists anymore

Russian troops appear to have taken control of the west bank of the Bakhmutka River in the heavily contested town of Bakhmut. This threatens an important supply route for the Ukrainian military, the British Ministry of Defense tweeted on Friday. According to the report, Russian troops have made progress in the bitter battle for the city in eastern Ukraine. Ukraine is controlling the situation, however, sources in Kiev said.
The Russian army has most likely advanced into the city centre, according to the latest report by British military intelligence on the situation in Ukraine. “Ukraine’s vital supply route 0506 to the west of the city is likely to be seriously threatened.”
The Ukrainian military once once more admitted that the situation in Bakhmut was difficult. The Ukrainian troops held out despite the numerical superiority of the Russian units, spokesman for the Ukrainian military command east, Serhiy Cherevatji, told the Archyde.com news agency. The Russian troops concentrated all their forces on taking the city. Ukraine controls the situation. In some places, Russia has achieved tactical successes, but it is paying a high price for it, says Cherevatji.
