Russians will be able to exchange their Russian driving licenses for Belarusian ones without passing an exam
This was announced by the head of the department of registration and examination activities and technical supervision of the main department of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, Alexander Shmaenkov, during a meeting of the commission on legislation and regulations of the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the Union of the two countries.
“The project has been developed, is being approved by government bodies, and we plan that on July 6 these changes will come into force and citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to exchange national driver’s licenses without passing a theoretical exam on the territory of the Republic of Belarus,” he said.
Shmaenkov added that there was no practical training when exchanging certificates before.
Before this, disruptions began in the traffic police database throughout Russia. The problems were recorded immediately after the federal information system was updated. Long queues formed at the offices, due to which drivers had to wait at least four hours to obtain or exchange a license, as well as register a car. Subsequently, in Moscow and the region, the work of traffic police bases was restored after a massive technical failure.
Previously, the Ministry of Health proposed supplementing the car first aid kit with a rescue blanket.
