The gazette notices cover key sectors including agriculture, transport, wildlife conservation, water management, trade, and higher education across Kenya.
Leadership Changes at Research, Wildlife, and Trade Institutions
President William Ruto signed a series of institutional changes. Among the prominent adjustments, Benson Gichohi Ngure steps into a three-year term as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO).
Waruingi secured reappointment as Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Wildlife Conservation Trust Fund. Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano also returned George Fredrick Mosiori, Mark Rotich, and Jane Naini Meriwas to the same board for three-year terms, alongside a fresh appointment for Robert Nyanjui Wainaina. Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui tapped Aaron Nanok to lead the Board of the Kenya Trade Remedies Agency as chairperson for a three-year term beginning August 7.
Transport and Water Sector Reappointments
Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir maintained continuity at the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority by reappointing Anna Robai Makawa, Dominic Kipkoech Koskei, and Annastacia Mumbua Musyimi to the Board of Directors for another three years. Chirchir also expanded the leadership at the Kenya Rural Roads Authority by adding Mohamed Rashid Abdille as a board member for a three-year term.
Water management agencies saw similar extensions under Cabinet Secretary Eric Murithi Mugaa. Patrick Musili Mbangula retained his position as non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Water Institute Board for a three-year period. Mwololo Benjamin Kyalo likewise secured a three-year reappointment as a member of the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority.
Higher Education Council Updates Across Kenyan Universities
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba restructured several academic councils.
Obare Mokogi. At Laikipia University, Fatuma Abdi joined the council for a three-year term, replacing the previous designation outlined in Gazette Notice No. 11252 of 2026. Ogamba also placed Dr. David Gikungu onto the Council of Meru University of Science and Technology for a three-year term.
Rounding out the higher education and regional developments, Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture and Children Services Hanna Wendot Cheptumo named Caroline Jerobon Rotich to the National Lottery Board for three years, revoking Teresia Jerusah Michael’s prior assignment. Meanwhile, East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development CS Beatrice Askul Moe retained Joseph Lorunyei Kuwam as a board member for the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin Development Authority, with Kuwam’s tenure scheduled to run for exactly one year from August 7, 2026.
