Ryan Gosling’s daughters noticed this during the Oscars rehearsal!

The actor of Crazy, Stupid, Love delivered a breathtaking rendition of I’m Just Kenhis song from the film Barbie, during the Oscars ceremony on Sunday. If his partner Eva Mendes and their two daughters, Esmeralda, nine years old, and Amada, seven years old, were not in the audience that evening, they had nevertheless attended the dress rehearsal.

“It was incredible, because they were able to attend the dress rehearsal the day before. They were in the front row, they were encouraging me, they were giving me grades – very good grades,” he told Extra at the premiere of his new film, The Fall Guyat SXSW in Texas, Tuesday.

Reflecting on his performance, the comedian said, in his usual deadpan style: “They had already asked me to come and make a racket, and it turns out I had a few spotlights on me.”

During the awards show, Eva Mendes posted a photo of herself wearing Ryan’s “I’m Just Ken” jacket and hat in her dressing room and wrote, “You took Ken to the Oscars, RG [sic]. Now go home, we gotta put the kids to bed [emoji de baiser]».

At SXSW, Ryan Gosling’s co-star Emily Blunt gave her thoughts on the performance. “Epic, legendary, I mean, it’s going to go down in history,” she told the press. “I told him yesterday: ‘People are going to talk to you about this when you’re 90’… He simply made the room vibrate. It was incredible.”

According to the Associated Press, the star of The Notebook joked about his musical number when he introduced The Fall Guy. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to sing. I promise you,” he said, provoking boos from the audience.

At the Academy Awards, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt teamed up to perform a tribute to stunt performers. They were both nominated for their supporting roles in Barbie et Oppenheimerbut did not win any prizes.
