Rybakina wins Wimbledon

Kazakhstan’s Elina Rybakina won the Wimbledon tennis title by defeating Tunisian Anas Jabeur 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the final.

Kazakh Elina Rybakina won the Wimbledon Tennis Championships by defeating Tunisian Anas Jabeur 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the final.

Rybakina became the first player from Kazakhstan to win a major title in both women’s and men’s competitions.

The Kazakh also became the most decorated country with 3 titles.

Rybakina, 23, has also become the second youngest player to win Wimbledon since Petra Kvitova, who won the title in 2011.

Rybakina qualified for the final by defeating Simona Halep of Belgium 6-3, 6-3 in the semi-finals.

On the other hand, Jaber was unable to crown her first title in the Grand Slam in her first final.

Jaber qualified for the final by defeating German Tatiana Maria 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in the semi-finals.
