Japanese “Samurai Metal” band RYUJIN signs worldwide deal with Napalm Records. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes… GYZE has become RYUJIN! Produced by Matthew Kiichi Heafy of TRIVIUM.
The 2011 under the name GYZE founded “Samurai Metal” band RYUJIN releases her self-titled Napalm Records debut “Ryujin,” out January 12, 2024! Featuring a mix of Japanese and English poetry, as well as production and several guest contributions by Matthew Kiichi Heafy (TRIVIUM), the band’s high-speed riffs and breakneck guitar descents combine with traditional Japanese elements, delivering a sound influenced by everything from ancient orchestral gagaku to modern anime themes.
After four highly acclaimed albums and appearances at major festivals worldwide, RYUJIN have developed their own identity, expressed through tasteful traditional Japanese instruments (e.g. shamisen, dragon flute, erhu, taiko) and the incredible shredding technique and infectious vocals of lead guitar god Ryoji Shinomoto .
Today the band announces their new album and releases a brand new single titled “Raijin & Fujin”, accompanied by an energetic music video. The track is an epic power metal storm with guest contributions from Matthew Kiichi Heafy that turns into a swirling tornado of rattling double bass and catapulting solos!
