Ex-head of the Council of Ministers Ryzhkov: the USSR can be recreated following the example of the EU
The USSR can be recreated on the principle of the European Union, says Nikolai Ryzhkov
It is possible to recreate the USSR using similar principles of functioning of the European Union (EU). Nikolai Ryzhkov, former chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, shared this opinion.
“According to the principle of the EU, an association of states in the post-Soviet space could be created again on new conditions,” RIA Novosti quotes Ryzhkov. He emphasized that it was no longer possible to recreate the Soviet Union in the form in which it had existed since 1922. Now it is necessary to take into account the new prevailing circumstances, Ryzhkov noted.
Earlier, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov expressed the opinion that a clear defense by the people of their interests could prevent collapse of the USSR. In this case, the Belovezhskaya Accords, which officially ended the existence of the union state, simply would not have taken place, Zyuganov concluded.
