The slalom shot winner from the USA won the slalom at the World Cup final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm ahead of the Norwegian Mina Fürst Holtmann (+0.54 seconds) and the Swede Anna Swenn Larsson (+0.63), who was leading at halftime. For Shiffrin it was the ninth win of the season. Katharina Huber achieved her best career result in the goal run in fifth place (+0.79), Katharina Liensberger came sixth (+0.93).
Huber was happy with the top 10 place because the last few races hadn’t gone that way. “It was a positive season in the slalom, I made a few good steps, it’s time to build on that.” Liensberger knew that even more would have been possible. “Annoying, but I showed good swings.” Katharina Troupe (13th) spoke of a “day to forget”. That was really bad skiing, it wasn’t because of the weather that she skied so poorly and didn’t get any physical tension. Katharina Gallhuber was eliminated in the second round.
