Sacramento Kings’ Quest for Playoffs: Signing JaVale McGee and More

The Sacramento Kings obtained the third best record in the Western Conference in 2022-2023, so for the upcoming NBA season they will seek to advance to the playoffs at least, for which they have signed a veteran center who was already champion with The Angeles Lakers.

Indeed, ESPN confirmed that Sacramento took over the services of JaVale McGee, a 35-year-old center who played last season with the Dallas Mavericks, registering 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 8.5 minutes on average during 42 challenges; including seven in starting role.

In this way, the Kings are McGee’s ninth franchise in the NBA, since in addition to his two internships with the Mavericks and representing the Lakers from 2018 to 2020, he played for the Washington Wizards (2008-2011), Denver Nuggets ( 2012-2015, 2020), Philadelphia 76ers (2014-2015), Golden State Warriors (2016-2018), Cleveland Cavaliers (2021) and Phoenix Suns (2021-2022).

Even before winning the ring with Los Angeles in 2020, the eccentric center did the same with the Warriors in the 2017 and 2018 league finals.

On the other hand, the Kings will try to continue strengthening themselves in the remainder of the market in order to compete among others with the same Lakers, favorites to topple the Nuggets in the West and in general, in the NBA for 2023-2024.
