SADC: In Luanda, Mbusa and Rasata count on DRC-Madagascar cooperation

Kinshasa, March 11, 2024- The Minister of State for Regional Integration, Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi, took advantage of his stay in Angola to meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar, Rasata Rafaravavitafika.

During their interviews, the two personalities noted the fact that DR Congo and Madagascar are the two French-speaking states of SADC.

To this end, they must strengthen their bilateral cooperation. This is why Minister of State Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi hoped that the two countries might set up a joint DRC-Madagascar commission to discuss their common interests.

Same story from Rasata Rafaravavitafika, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar, who said that his country is full of natural wealth like the DRC and that by coming together in the bilateral framework, they will be able to boost the development of these two countries.

Note that the two personalities, during this meeting, discussed several points relating to cooperation and security. They promised to explore the issue further with a view to creating a DRC-Madagascar Joint Commission within which all issues related to cooperation in several sectors of life will be debated.

It should be recalled that the two personalities met on the sidelines of the SADC Council of Ministers which was held in Luanda, Angola, from March 10 to 11.
