Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, inaugurated yesterday, Monday, the Middle East Energy Exhibition 2022 Dubai, with the attendance of more than 18,000 participants during the exhibition days extending to March 9.
With the participation of more than 500 exhibitors from 131 countries, the event will highlight five key sectors: Transmission and Distribution, Smart Solutions, Renewable and Clean Energy, Backup Generators, Critical Energy, Energy Consumption and Management; The event will provide an ideal platform to learn more about energy alternatives and solutions, including digitization, solar, wind and hydro solutions among many others.
Azzan Mohammed, director of the Middle East Energy Exhibition and the Global Forum for Energy and Utilities, said: This year’s edition of the event will provide an ideal platform to secure stability and identify new opportunities in the energy sector in conjunction with overcoming the challenges arising from the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic during the past two years. Key discussion sessions, each of which will have a major role in achieving the goals of global energy markets for a sustainable future.
He stressed that the main objective of the exhibition is to provide the opportunity for face-to-face communication and meeting, and to enhance knowledge through ideas and expert analysis as part of the conferences.
The first day of the event witnessed the launch of three conferences, including the Global Energy and Utilities Forum, which was inaugurated by Eng. Yousef Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for the Electricity, Water and Future Energy Sector at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure; The conference will provide an ideal platform for industry experts to discuss thought leadership, collaboration and solutions, to address the energy transformation within the sector through a series of strategic committees.
The opening session of the event highlighted the roadmap for decarbonization, which was hosted by: General Electric, the UAE Ministry of Energy, the Department of Energy – Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah Municipality; It focused on the high-level strategies adopted across the region to achieve the goals of the energy transition; Now that the historic agreements were signed at COP26, attention is turning to ambitious decarbonization initiatives and net-zero programmes.
The Intersolar Middle East Conference, which also kicked off yesterday, also provided delegates with the opportunity to learn more about industry best practices across key pillars of the energy sector.
