Salah scores in Liverpool’s win over Rangers

Liverpool put its stumble in the last period behind its back to easily win 2-0 at its guest, Rangers, on Tuesday, and advance to second place in the first group in the Champions League.

The win, thanks to a superb free kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the first half and a penalty from Mohamed Salah following the break, lifted six-times champions Liverpool to six points in second place, three points behind leaders Napoli, who crushed Ajax Amsterdam 6- 1.

Rangers, who did not pose a threat to Liverpool’s goal and frustrated their fans who traveled behind the team, are bottom of the table without a credit.

In need of a boost following a poor start in the Premier League, Liverpool’s attacking quartet Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez were better than Rangers, while the Scottish striker Alfredo Morelos was isolated in attack.
