Salary adjustment for men in the army!

The federal army union calls for the salary of men to be adjusted to that of women for basic military service

Vienna (OTS) – On International Women’s Day, the Minister of Defense proudly announced that women can now do basic military service under the same conditions as men – previously this required a special long-term commitment. The Federal Army Union welcomes this step because it opens up the same opportunities for women as for male comrades. “However, there is still a huge fly in the ointment that needs to be ironed out,” says Manfred Haidinger, President of the Armed Forces Union. “Women are granted a monthly salary of 1251.08 euros, according to FBM Tanner, men have received 500 euros for the same service since 2023, this unequal treatment should be abolished,” says Haidinger, “because both do this service voluntarily and that’s where it can be give no differences.
