In those distant times, when there was no talk of the Ukraine war, they were already working together in Salzburg. Peter Sellars formed “Idomeneo” in 2019 together with conductor Teodor Currentzis as a call to act in an environmentally friendly and peaceful manner. Now they have come together in the sense of a kind of juke box opera. And: With his Utopia Orchestra, Currentzis, who has now largely disappeared from the concert programs of the West, is welcome in Salzburg.
