In beta phase since October, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldables began receiving the update to Android 14, under the One UI 6.0 personalized interface. The update arrived for unlocked versions in the United States this weekend, after carrier-locked variants were also released.

According to the website SamMobile, the Z Fold 3 changes the build to F926U1UEU4HWL1, while the Z Flip 3 brings build F711U1UEU5HWL1. The size of each update was not revealed, but it is known that it is accompanied by the December 2023 security package for both cell phones.

What’s new?

The latest version of Samsung’s software features a new Quick Panel layout, new emoji designs and a more streamlined look for notifications. Additionally, there has been a change to the media widget, which now displays a lively animation for waiting.

Another new feature consists of changes made to native Korean applications. We’re mainly talking about the biggest image and video editing controls; from Samsung Studio, as a built-in video player with draft support; and additional controls in the camera app.

How to update?

The update should be available via OTA, with automatic notification to the user. If the message has not arrived on your smartphone, you can check it manually using the following method: Settings > Software update > Download and install.
