The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could be the first smartphone foldable with frames made of titanium. According to leaker Revegnus, this change is being studied by the Korean manufacturer’s development team.

If the rumor becomes reality, the Z Fold 6 could be lighter than its predecessor, something that makes it much more attractive to audiences who don’t like foldable cell phones.

Furthermore, titanium’s high resistance to scratches and dents can significantly improve the durability of the Z Fold 6 when compared to other Chinese solutions from Huawei, Honor and Xiaomi.

For now, Samsung is not commenting on the matter officially, but all leakers agree that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset. It should work with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage.

Furthermore, the Korean manufacturer has also been studying an improvement to the cooling system, in addition to adopting a hinge with a softer grip to adapt to daily use.

Other expected specifications include a Gorilla Glass Armor glass finish, a 4,600 mAh battery with 45W charging, and Android 14 as the operating system.

It is worth remembering that the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could take place in mid-July at a major Galaxy Unpacked event. The Fold FE variants could arrive in September to “disrupt” sales of the iPhone 16.
