Samsung Introduces New Neo 8K QLED TVs, Including Battery-Free Remote

With so many devices and product lines, it’s no wonder giant Samsung’s events follow one another at such a rapid pace.

Today took place the Unbox & Discover online event to introduce the new Neo 8K QLED TVs, soundbars and other accessories.

From the start, Samsung announced its ambitions, which the giant summarized as follows: Screens everywhere, Screens for all.

2022 Neo QLED 8K TVs

The highlight of this grand unboxing was the release of the Neo QLED 8K lineup displays which have been upgraded with a new 8K Neural Quantum Processor. This processor has 20 independent artificial intelligence (AI) neural networks, each analyzing the characteristics of the video content and the quality of the image for optimal display, regardless of the source.

An example of image processing with this intelligent processor, it scans the screen and maximizes contrast with the background by highlighting the main object while leaving the background unprocessed. A process similar to how human eyes perceive images in real life.

These TVs have received the first certification from Pantone, a global color authority and creator of the Pantone Matching system. Samsung is the only manufacturer to have received such certification.

Another notable detail, the refresh rate of the screen goes from 120 to 144 Hz to give more fluidity to action scenes and video games.

Wireless Dolby Atmos sound

In the QN900B, a flagship Neo QLED 8K model, all sound comes from a 90W 6.2.4-channel audio system, featuring Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound Pro. This technology has also been applied to voice recognition with the Voice Tracking Sound feature.

Samsung is also introducing Dolby Atmos wireless streaming to its 4K and 8K Neo QLED TVs without requiring an HDMI connection. This Dolby Atmos wireless capability will also be applied to Samsung’s new 2022 Ultra Slim Soundbar.

Battery-free remote control

The SolarCell remote has also received an upgrade for 2022. It is 88% more efficient than previous 2020 models. They are now completely battery-free and can be recharged by harvesting radio frequency energy 2 .4 GHz from nearby Wi-Fi routers. This is original and clever.
