Samsung launches app that turns your cell phone into a controller to play on the Gaming Hub

A Samsung recently launched a new app to transform the cell phone into a gamepad, with access to virtual buttons on the screen. At first, there’s a good chance you didn’t know this, as the company didn’t make an announcement and only added it discreetly to the Play Store catalog.

In general, this tool turns your smartphone screen into your new gamepad for playing on your TV, if you have a Samsung model with access to the Gaming Hub platform. Therefore, this South Korean solution could be an interesting alternative, as it is much cheaper than buying a good quality physical control in the store.

The operation of the app, in turn, is no different from the operations that a traditional accessory can provide to the user. In other words, you will have access to right and left analog sticks, as well as directional pads, action buttons and others present in the standard layout of any common physical controller.

It is also worth mentioning that the application can also function as a normal television control. If the user has a Samsung TV, simply access the menu and search for the Virtual Gamepad option. You must be on the latest version of SmartThings to see this option.

Another important detail is that there isn’t much to do with the app if the person doesn’t have a Samsung TV. Despite not being the best solution and not having the capacity to replace a physical control, the novelty is still interesting.

If you are interested in a physical model, you can check out this one released by Red Magic or the item presented by GameSir.
