Samsung announced the ViewFinity S9 monitor with impressive capabilities during CES 2023 in January and now we finally have new information about it including its price and release date.
Starting with the screen, the ViewFinity S9 has a completely flat 27-inch IPS panel with 5K resolution (5,120 x 2,880 pixels) that can reach up to 600 nits with a contrast of 1000:1.
The refresh rate is 60Hz, but this is not a product for gamers but for designers as it offers 99% DCI-P3 gamut color coverage with accuracy Delta E ≦ 21.
The screen is anti-reflective with a matte finish and offers a 5ms GtG response time, in addition to having intelligent calibration integrated with the Samsung application for cell phones, which allows you to obtain the most faithful colors by analyzing the ambient lighting.
The ViewFinity S9 is also certified low blue light by TÜV Rheinland to reduce eye strain during long periods of work.
Speaking of connections, the monitor has a Thunderbolt 4 input supporting 90W, a 1 mini DisplayPort and 3 USB-C. All in a slim metal body. At the top of the screen we also find an integrated webcam with 4K resolution. The mount swivels with a tilt, but the ViewFinity S9 can also be attached to a 100×100 wall mount.
price and availability
According to 9to5Mac, Samsung’s new monitor will be available in the United States in August for the price of US$ 1,599, about R$ 7,700 in direct conversion, through Samsung’s official website. There is no forecast for launch in Brazil.
