PHOENIX — Xander Bogaerts had four hits and three RBIs for the San Diego Padres, who handed the Arizona Diamondbacks their ninth straight loss, beating them 10-5 Friday.
Bogaerts hit a two-run homer and Jake Cronenworth homered for San Diego, snapping their four-game skid. Blake Snell (9-8) continued his dominance over the Diamondbacks, going six innings during which he allowed two hits and a pair of runs.
Fernando Tatis had three of San Diego’s 14 hits, while Juan Soto added an RBI triple as part of a four-run run against starter Ryne Nelson (6-7).
The Diamondbacks have fallen to within two games of the .500 mark and are winless in August.
For the Padres, the Dominicans Tatis 5-3 with two runs and one produced, Soto 5-2 with two runs and two RBIs, Manny Machado 4-1 with two runs and one RBI, Gary Sánchez 4-0.
