The San Francisco 49ers became the first team to qualify for the NFL playoffs.
With the Green Bay Packers’ 22:24 win over the New York Giants, the 49ers have secured their ticket; San Francisco had already beaten the Seattle Seahawks 28:16 on Sunday.
The team from California benefited from a late success by the Giants, who scored the decisive field goal by Randy Bullock as the game clock expired. It was the first win for Giants QB Tommy DeVito, who was making his fourth consecutive start due to injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor. This performance is all the more remarkable because DeVito came into the NFL as an undrafted player.
“He had four games. I am proud of him. “He’s really put in a lot of work since he’s been here,” said Giants coach Brian Daboll, praising his quarterback after the game.
For the 49ers, it is the third playoff appearance in a row. In 2019 they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans managed a remarkable comeback in the second Monday Night Game.

“When it happened, my first reaction was, man, my ankle is gone,” the Dolphins star said after the match. “My adrenaline went up, I ran off the field, then I sat there for a while and it got stiff and I was in a lot of pain.”
He then sent a message to his wife saying he was in pain. Her surprising answer was: “You better get your ass back in the game!” No sooner said than done: “So I just decided that it was going to hurt. It’s going to suck. Tonight and tomorrow morning. I just went back into the game without anyone sending me in.”
