SAN JOAQUÍN DE OMAGUAS SCHOOL WITHOUT TEACHERS OR FURNITURE

The achievements of the Elías Aguirre Romero Educational Institution, in San Joaquín de Omaguas, were rewarded by Unicef with the delivery of a photocopier and other materials, however, there is no electricity in the place for it to work.

The director of the campus, Nelson Rojas Vásquez, arrived 17 years ago from his native Cajamarca. He told Pro y Contra that when the photocopier starts working, it is thanks to the collaboration of the teachers who make a collection to buy fuel.

As in all rural schools, they suffer from the problem due to the lack of Internet and despite the fact that Ugel Loreto-Nauta appointed staff, they still need a primary teacher for fifth grade and three secondary teachers.

Rojas Vásquez commented that these deficiencies are added to the fact that they do not have complete furniture and their infrastructure is precarious.
