Spinner Yushvandra Chahal has made it to the Indian squad for the India-South Africa ODI series after a long gap.
In this situation, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has come to the scene talking about the inclusion of Chahal in the team.
Manjrekar was talking about Chahal’s inclusion in India’s squad for the three ODIs against South Africa with spinner Axar Patel along with spin bowlers Washington Sundar and Kuldiv Yadav.
“Chahal’s inclusion in the ODI squad against South Africa was an unexpected decision. I saw Chahal only as a bowler in the T20 format. But now India has a great bowler like Ravi Bishnai in T20,’ said Sanjay Manjrekar on Star Sports’ Game Plan.
The star did not get a chance in the last ODI World Cup and the subsequent T20I series against Australia. With the Chinaman spinner performing well in the Indian team, it remains to be seen how much Chahal will get a place in the playing eleven.
Chahal, who made his ODI debut for the Indian team in 2016, has taken 121 wickets from 72 matches. The star’s economy is 5.26.
Meanwhile, the first T20 match between India and South Africa in Durban was abandoned due to rain. The second T20I will be played at the St. George Park Cricket Stadium on December 12.
