Sanjay Shah’s transfer; Appeal against judgment Exile of Sanjay Shah; Appeal against judgment

Dubai: The Attorney General of Dubai has appealed against the court order against the deportation of British citizen Sanjay Shah, who is being investigated in the case of fraud of 1.7 billion dollars in Denmark. The court on Monday allowed Sanjay Shaq to stay in Dubai. According to Denmark’s request, he was arrested in June by the Dubai Police, who was accused in a fraud case. However, the deportation has been put on hold after the court allowed him to stay in Dubai.

The High Court will hear the appeal filed by Attorney General Isam Isa Al Humaidan. The Attorney General’s appeal is under the jurisdiction of the International Judicial Cooperation Act. He is under investigation in a tax evasion case and was taken into custody by the Dubai Police under the international agreement to extradite criminals.

The court blocked the deportation, citing that UAE prosecutors working for the Danish government had not properly submitted extradition documents. After this verdict, Sanjay Shah’s lawyers started trying to get him released. However, in a case filed by the Danish government on Thursday, the Dubai court has ordered him to return $1.25 billion. Sanjay Shah, who lived in a villa in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, is currently in detention.
