Chennai: Good score for India A in the 3rd ODI against New Zealand A. Indian captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Sanju (54), Shardul Thakur (51) and Tilak Verma (50) shone as India scored 284 runs in 49.3 overs. Jacob Duffy, Matthew Fisher and Michael Rippon took two wickets each.

Abhimanyu Eswaran (39) and Rahul Tripathi (18) returned after adding 55 runs for the opening wicket. India first lost the wicket of Abhimanyu who hit eight boundaries. Sanju came to the crease third. But Tripathi also returned while adding 10 more runs on the scoreboard. Later, Sanju-Tilak combined at the crease and added 99 runs.

Tilak’s innings included three sixes and a four. Tilak was returned by Rachin Ravindra. Then KS Bharat (9) who came to the crease had only nine balls.
