Sanju scored 55 runs off 83 balls against Mumbai. Sanju was out for 15 runs against Odisha and 30 runs against Saurashtra. The player scored only two fifties in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Twenty20 tournament held before the Vijay Hazare tournament.
BCCI did not consider Sanju for the Indian team for Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. Even when the youth cricket team was sent to the Asian Games in China, Sanju was not included. Sanju was not able to get a place in the team for the Twenty20 series against Australia. Sanju Samson is the captain of the Rajasthan Royals team for the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
Even when Sanju is in poor form, Kerala is winning big in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kerala won by 119 runs against Tripura on Wednesday. Batting first, Kerala scored 231 runs in 47.1 overs while Tripura were all out for 112. Kerala’s next match is against Sikkim on Friday. Kerala defeated Saurashtra by three wickets in the first match. They lost to Mumbai but won against Odisha by 78 runs.
