Santiago Pride: the women’s orchestra that opens the meeting with artists from all over the country

From north to south and from east to west, artists from all over the country participate from this Friday, April 7 to Sunday, April 9, in the 5th National Meeting of Music for Women and Dissidents in the Capital of Santiago del Estero, which will have at its opening the performance of an orchestra made up entirely of women from Santiago.

The opening will take place in the courtyard of the Municipality of the Capital and, for the first time in its history, the meeting will feature the presentation of an orchestra made up entirely of women instrumentalists playing cello, trumpets, violins, double bass, saxophone and groups of singers. , percussionists and dancers.

“For us it is a pride to be in charge of a new edition, because it is not easy to bring together leaders from all regions of the country and it is one of the things that we highlight from this meeting, the federal nature,” said Carolina Haick, of the Santiago del Estero Women’s Music Civil Association, responsible for the organization.

Haick explained that each of the artistic disciplines will be directed by artists from Santiago. The orchestra, by Guadalupe Suárez; Singers, Rocío Pirro; Afro Dance, Carla Diaz; Fantasy, Flower Wolf; and Contemporary Dance, Fusa, while the coordination will be in charge of Karime Nassif.

In this framework, from the organization they thanked “the permanent support of the Government in charge of Dr. Gerardo Zamora; the mayor Norma Fuentes and the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Matilde O’Mill; because they allow us to move forward with actions that make visible the work of many artists throughout the country.”

It should be noted that the meeting also has the accompaniment of the Ministry of Culture of the Nation; the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity and the National Institute of Music (Inamu).

The meeting includes concerts, talks, workshops, spaces for reflection, a club, among other activities of interest to the participants, with the aim of promoting, energizing and strengthening the music sector with a gender perspective, favoring and strengthening a path towards real equity in the field of culture.
