Episode 27 | SAP Partner Summit 2023 Recap

The Big Themes:

  • Dedication to partner ecosystem: Bonnie noted that the SAP Partner Summit was not connected to any customer conference, but instead its own standalone event, demonstrating SAP’s commitment to cohesion in its partner ecosystem.
  • Orchestration was a key theme: One of the standout talks that Bonnie attended focused on consistency and collaboration between partners, to the extent that customers can’t easily tell where SAP’s work ends and the partner’s begins.
  • A more open forum: In contrast to partner events of the past and those put on by other vendors, SAP went above and beyond to invite and listen to feedback from partners during the summit, which Bonnie says is a win-win move.

The Big Quote: “In the past, everybody celebrated the go-live. That was a huge milestone, and everybody ate cake and drank their champagne, and then everybody went away, and it’s like, ‘okay, see you when we need to upgrade to your new version.’ And I think there’s no longer that huge milestone… It’s a marathon, not sprints anymore, in terms of how they view the relationship.”
