The couple remained married following their appearance in season four of “Married at First Sight”, but chose to continue their lives out of the limelight.

But life beyond the cameras didn’t help the relationship. It has been six years since the wedding on television and when couples gather for the big reunion, John and Sara Lannergren Wallén tell that they took a break following the recording.

– If I had to redo it, I would do it to be with Sara, but we probably didn’t know that it would be such a big strain on the relationship, says John in the program.

Opens up regarding the difficulties

In the reunion episode, John and Sara Lannergren Wallén sit down with Ida and Arvid Stark to talk regarding their experience.

John says it was hard to make everyday life feel worthwhile following the wedding, honeymoon and all the dates were so “euphoric”. He also found it difficult to express his feelings during filming.

– I had great difficulty setting boundaries. I discovered that I never really said what I wanted and didn’t want, but I agreed to everything, says John and continues:

– We took a break and I realized that I had to set boundaries and say no and that was the start of something great. But it was very difficult to do it with cameras on.

Today, the couple lives on a farm outside Uppsala and has two children together.
