Satish Babu Payyannoor passed away; He was found dead in a flat in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: Prominent story writer, novelist and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award winner Satish Babu Payyannoor found dead in his flat in Vanchiyur.

Satish Babu and his wife lived in a flat near Mathrubhumi Road. Satish Babu was alone at home as his wife had gone home the previous day. Residents say that he was not seen outside following seven o’clock last night. The newspaper in front of the flat was not taken. The death is believed to have occurred last night. After calling him since morning and he did not pick up the phone, his relatives informed the police. Satish Babu was found dead when the door of the flat was opened with the help of the police.

The police say that there is no abnormality in the death. Police said there were no signs of trespassing or assault.
The post-mortem will be completed within six hours and the body will be handed over to the relatives. The body was found on the floor inside the room of the flat. A forensic team is investigating.

He has written seven novels and two collections of stories. Has directed several television films and documentaries. He was a member of the Kerala Film Academy. He also wrote the screenplay for the 1992 film Nakshatra Kudaram.
