Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Muhannadi passed away

Doha ∙ Qatar Football Association (QFA) Vice President and Asian Football Confederation West Asia Vice Chairman Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Muhannadi (66) passed away.

He was ill and undergoing treatment. Qatar Olympic Committee President Sheikh Joan bin Hamad Al Thani announced the death on Twitter. Al Muhannadi is a person who has played a major role in the growth of Qatar’s sports sector. He is also the Vice President of the Union of Arab Football Association and was earlier elected as a member of the FIFA Council.

He has also worked as chairman in the Gulf Cup Committee which was before the formation of the Gulf Football Association. The Qatar Football Association, Qatar Olympic Committee, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Qatar Stars League, various sports federations and clubs in Qatar have expressed their condolences on the death of Al Muhannadi, who has rendered invaluable service to Qatar’s sports sector.
