Dammam: The Saudi Ministry of Environment and Agriculture has banned the fishing of ayacura fish in the Arabian Gulf. The action is part of protecting the breeding season of fish. The ban is from 15th August to 15th October. The ban was announced by the Fisheries Authority.
The ban is coordinated by the Gulf Cooperation Council. All six GCC countries have similarly imposed bans. The director general of the ministry, Amar Almutairi, said that the ban is related to the protection of fish breeding.
