The Disciplinary Committee of the Saudi Football Association announced, on Sunday, that Zakaria Hawsawi, defender of Al-Ittihad, the leader of the Professional League, was suspended for six matches following spitting on a competitor.

The committee also fined Hawsawi 60,000 riyals (regarding 16,000 dollars) following he was sent off in the last minutes during the 2-1 victory over Al-Shabab last Thursday.

And television footage showed that Hawsawi, 22, spat on youth striker Gregor Krichoviak in stoppage time and was sent off a few minutes following he came on as a substitute.

Before the last six league rounds, Al-Ittihad tops the standings, three points behind Al-Nassr, who played more matches.
