The General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia has announced adjusted working hours for its branches and departments throughout the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. The changes, designed to streamline services and accommodate the needs of citizens and residents, come into effect immediately and prioritize accessibility during this significant period.
The Directorate urged citizens and residents to utilize the electronic services available through the “Absher” and “Absher Business” platforms, as well as the “Muqeem” portal. These platforms enable individuals to complete most transactions without the need to visit branches in person, offering a convenient and efficient alternative.
Ramadan Hours in Riyadh and Jeddah
Specific timings will vary by location. In the capital, Riyadh (Al-Rimal district and Qasr Al-Hukm station), branches will operate with a morning shift from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Sunday – Thursday) and a night shift from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM throughout the week.
In Jeddah, the passport offices at Al-Serefi Mall and Al-Tahliya Mall will follow a similar schedule, with a morning shift from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and a night shift from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM (Sunday – Thursday). These adjusted hours aim to provide greater flexibility for residents during the fasting month.
Regional Office Hours and Online Support
For passport offices in other regions and governorates of the Kingdom, working hours will be from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday. This standardized schedule seeks to ensure consistent service delivery across the country. The Directorate emphasized its commitment to facilitating services smoothly and efficiently during Ramadan.
the Directorate highlighted the availability of the “Tawasul” service on the Absher platform. This service allows individuals to submit inquiries and requests related to passports quickly and easily, eliminating the need for in-person visits.
The announcement underscores the Saudi government’s ongoing efforts to leverage technology and enhance public services, particularly during peak periods like Ramadan. By expanding online options and adjusting branch hours, the Directorate of Passports aims to provide a seamless experience for all citizens, and residents.
As Ramadan approaches, individuals planning to conduct passport-related transactions are encouraged to explore the available electronic services and familiarize themselves with the updated branch timings to ensure a smooth and efficient process. The focus remains on providing accessible and convenient services while upholding the highest standards of efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Looking ahead, the Directorate of Passports will continue to monitor service demand and adapt its operations as needed to meet the evolving needs of the public. Further updates and announcements will be shared through official channels as they develop into available.
