On Friday, the Saudi Football Association announced the launch of its official campaign to host the 2034 World Cup, according to what was reported by the official Saudi Press Agency.

According to the agency, the Saudi Football Association revealed the campaign’s slogan, entitled “Together We Grow,” and the slogan bore two multi-colored stripes forming the number 34. The campaign’s official website (Saudi2034bid.com) was also announced.

The Saudi Federation said that the logo is designed to reflect “the essence of the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and its young and vibrant society.”

The Saudi Federation published a video clip about the nomination file, which was filmed in different regions of the Kingdom, with the participation of current and former football stars, during which it reviewed “the cultural heritage, civilizational heritage, and natural scenes of the Kingdom,” according to the agency.

The agency quoted the President of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser Al-Mashal, as saying, “Submitting the candidacy file to host the 2034 World Cup comes as an important step in the Kingdom’s sporting and football journey in particular,” adding that the nomination file “represents an open invitation to the world to join us on this journey.”

The agency said that the Saudi Football Federation has established a special unit for the Kingdom’s bid to host the 2034 World Cup, led by Hammad bin Khaled Al-Balawi.

Al-Balawi stressed that “the Kingdom’s candidacy file to host the 2034 World Cup draws inspiration from the dreams and aspirations of 32 million residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” He promised to submit “a candidacy file that the entire Saudi people will be proud of.”

The campaign announcement did not provide new details about the cities and stadiums hosting the 48-team tournament, which is expected to be held between November and December 2034.

It is expected that FIFA will approve the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s request to host the tournament in an uncontested vote among the 211 member federations of the ruling entity before the end of 2024. The date and location of the vote have not yet been announced.

Since last October, the oil-rich kingdom has become the only candidate in the race to host the 2034 World Cup.

The Kingdom currently aims to host the tournament alone, but it may share some matches later with neighboring countries and emirates.

The first men’s World Cup will be held for the first time with forty-eight teams in 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The 2030 tournament will be held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with one match being held in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. These plans must be officially confirmed during the current year.
