Thousands of Egyptians, during the past hours, played a shocking video showing a man beating his wife with unparalleled brutality, after the clip was circulated on social media.
Activists called on the National Council for Women and the Public Prosecutor to intervene to save Mary Magdy and Nice, who almost died as a result of that attack, while the hashtag “#Save_Mary_Magdy” was issued on the communication platforms.
Meanwhile, Mary revealed to Al Arabiya.net that the incident of beating her was revealed by a surveillance camera installed in the property in which she resided with her husband, Walid Saad Ayoub, 20 years ago.

She said that this is not the first time he has hit her, pointing out that she and her two daughters are always subjected to severe beatings by her husband, justifying this by his addiction to drugs, and with the aim of obtaining money to buy them.
She also added that her husband had previously tried to kill her and her two daughters, explaining that she informed the police, and he was taken and interrogated more than once, but he was always released.
While she concluded by saying that she, through some friends, submitted several reports to the Public Prosecutor and the National Council for Women to save her, especially since her husband’s drug addiction renders him unconscious and unconscious, which puts her life and the lives of her two daughters at risk!
