Did you know you’re probably paying too much for your BigMac at McDonald’s? A former chef at the big fast food chain has attacked the famous burger on TikTok claiming it is a scam.
“Don’t order BigMacs anymore,” says Mike Haracz in his video, which garnered 120,000 views in 24 hours. Take a McDouble with the BigMac toppings. You will save $2.”
The content creator, who was responsible for culinary innovations at McDonald’s, set about comparing the McDouble which contains two beef patties, tangy pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard and a slice of cheese, and the famous BigMac which is known for its two meatballs, its pickles, its lettuce, its onions, its slice of cheese and its legendary sauce.
“The McDouble has a slice of cheese like the BigMac, he illustrates. It doesn’t have any bread in the middle and besides, it’s cheaper.”
Several Internet users were thrilled by the discovery.
“I order it all the time. It’s so much better,” commented one user, confirming that the McDouble was a safe bet.
However, other people have criticized Mike Haracz’s trick.
“The McDonald’s near me charged me to have lettuce and BigMac sauce in my McDouble. We end up paying the same price”, illustrated a user.
Mike Haracz reacted to this comment in a video by saying that restaurants that inflate order bills because of small add-ons are dishonest.
“Charging $2 for lettuce and BigMac sauce doesn’t make sense,” he said.
