The SBB pension fund suffered the brunt of difficulties on the financial markets last year. The coverage rate is barely above 100%.
The pension fund’s investment return slipped into the red, to -12.1%, the company said on Monday. At the end of 2022, the coverage rate fell to 100.6%, after 112.4% a year earlier. The fall in bond prices weighed particularly heavily.
Final figures and details will be published in April together with the annual report. The pension fund insures 56,000 people, 44% of whom are of retirement age.
