SC Düdingen F drops first points – 0:0 against FFV Basel – FuPa

Both teams were well positioned from the start, but despite having good possession, Freiburg lacked speed and struggled to find their feet in attack. They tried to throw their opponents off their game with a few strong crosses, but none of them could trouble the Basel goalkeeper. The local defense, on the other hand, was disciplined and prevented any chances in the first half.

After the break, the SCDF came back onto the pitch with a different attitude and wanted to do better. The pressing was well executed and led to ball wins in the Basel half, but the chances still did not lead to goals. The Freiburg team was thwarted by an opposing block that prevented them from developing their game. Again, there were only a few shots attempted, which often ended up in the goalkeeper’s arms. On the other hand, the FFV Basel only managed to score three free kicks. Without either team managing to score, the referee blew the whistle on a goalless game.

A rather frustrating game that the SCDF was unable to exploit as much as they would have liked, but the exemplary defensive behavior is still worth mentioning. The championship will be paused next weekend as the Swiss Cup celebrates its comeback! Düdingen will travel to FC Champel (3rd L) next Saturday.
