The US Anti-Doping Agency has announced the exclusion of American Garrett Scantling from the decathlon at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA, after accepting a provisional suspension for violating anti-doping rules.
The agency said in a statement that Scantling, who was hoping to win a medal in the US World Cup, after finishing fourth in the Tokyo Olympics last year, was arrested for “behavior during an investigation regarding a third failure to test for doping,” without providing further information about the circumstances of his violation of the rules.
