Scenes of corpses in Bucha confirm the need for a ceasefire in Ukraine

Dr. Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE, called today, Monday, for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and an end to the humanitarian crisis in the country.

Dr. Anwar Gargash wrote on his Twitter account, “The horrific scenes of victims’ bodies in the Ukrainian Bucha region confirm the need to sincerely seek an immediate ceasefire and end the worsening humanitarian crisis.”

And from this standpoint, the UAE plays its role to help the affected people in Ukraine and encourage the diplomatic approach to confront this crisis through an urgent political solution.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Monday that evidence of the killings of civilians in the town of Bucha was just “the tip of the iceberg” and indicated the need for tougher sanctions against Moscow.

On Monday, Ukrainian authorities said they were investigating possible war crimes by Russia, after photos from Bucha showed civilian bodies lying on the ground and makeshift graves.

And earlier, the Ukrainian authorities and media distributed a video clip saying that it was filmed in the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region, where the bodies of the dead lie on the side of the road, after the withdrawal of Russian forces.

Western criticism of Russia has been mounting since Sunday, against the backdrop of Ukrainian allegations of a “mass killing” in Bucha, outside the capital, Kyiv.

On the other hand, Russia categorically rejects the accusations of “attack on the Bucha region” in the vicinity of Greater Kyiv, and warned earlier today that “the provocations resulting from the situation in Ukraine’s Bucha threaten international peace and security.”

Russia Today, in its Arabic version, quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as saying, “Another fake (fake) attack was launched in the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region, after the Russian forces left from there according to plans.”

“There was a theater show a few days later and the fabrications were spread across all channels and social networks by Ukrainian actors and their Western sponsors,” he added.
