But no defense reinforcement for Schalke!
The loan change from central defender Christopher Jullien (29) burst on the home stretch.
After the Frenchman had already completed preliminary medical examinations in Gelsenkirchen yesterday, the player and Schalke might not come to an agreement financially in a final discussion.
Jullien is therefore staying at Celtic Glasgow – although the Schotten-Klub and Schalke had already agreed on a change from the ex-Freiburger!
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Royal Blue had agreed with Celtic on a loan including a purchase option. For a loan deal, however, Jullien would have had to extend his Celtic contract, which expires in 2023.
Nothing will come of this anyway. Schalke has to start once more in the search for the new defense boss.
