Schramböck: Vaccination obligation “check quickly” and “don’t be stubborn”

Apparently, the timetable for compulsory vaccination is not set in stone. After sustained criticism, the government confirmed this on Thursday, but three days later it was put into perspective.

Economy Minister Margarete Schramboeck says on Sunday in the ORF-Press hour that the law is a framework that allows for a phased approach.

This possibility should also be used and “not be stubborn”. Different experts from medicine and law should advise, and politicians will then make the decision.

So far, so clear – that’s what the government has always announced. It is planned that phase 2 with penalties and controls will start on March 16th. A commission set up in the Federal Chancellery will then evaluate. A first meeting of the commission is “planned for the next few weeks,” it said on Thursday when asked by KURIER.
