Actor and environmental activist Arnold Schwarzenegger invites “everyone” through an initiative online launched Monday, May 6, to “train” new habits favorable to improving the planet’s climate, without waiting for political actions.
“We all have to work together on this because we can’t wait for politicians, because they’ve been promising all kinds of things that they’re not delivering,” Schwarzenegger says in the first video of a series, posted on social media.
The one who was also governor of California (2003-2011) appears in the images on a bicycle and encourages people to use this form of transportation to replace the car whenever possible, whether to go to work or to dinner.
Every week there will be a new video, reported in a statement the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative, a Vienna-based association that organizes the annual Austrian World Summit climate conference.
“Starting Monday, May 6, Arnold Schwarzenegger invites you to (the program) Pump For The Planet. Join him and get in shape for the future, only this time it’s not about building muscles, but about reinforcing ecological habits,” the note indicates.
Through videos, it is hoped to encourage people to integrate new “environmentally friendly” customs into their daily lives, step by step, by actively participating in their campaign.

Until the next World Summit in Austria, on June 20, Every week, a video will be published where Schwarzenegger and other personalities will present various habits.
“We’ll be sweating it out with fun eco-friendly ‘workouts’ designed to impact our environment. From waste reduction to energy conservation to climate action, it all counts!” the statement said.
“Join us on Instagram to share your green workouts using our ‘Add Yours’ feature or by tagging us for a chance to win a ‘Be Helpful’ book signed by Arnold himself,” he adds.

The main objective of the Vienna conference is to raise public opinion about the need to protect the environment and adopt effective measures to mitigate global warming.
