The search for exotic mosquitoes is becoming more and more intense. Anyone who thinks they have seen a tiger mosquito in Belgium can upload a photo of the mosquito to the muggensurveillance.be website. The scientists will then check whether it is a tiger mosquito. With this project, the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITG) and Sciensano want to gain a better understanding of the presence of exotic mosquitoes in our country and the impact on public health. The two institutions announced this in a press release on Monday.
